We are normally fascinated or some by other persons who use their natural ability/ies for entertainment, especially:
The Voice: – vocal play (Naturally 7), vocal percussion (Rahzel), mouth organ (Larry Alder) to mention but a few.
Enter the “Yirra Curl” by Xavier Rudd an Australian singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist extradonaire as they are called these days LOL. He plays the didgeridoo, a wind instrument of the indigenous Australians of northern Australia. Many of Rudd’s songs incorporate socially conscious themes, such as environmentalism and the rights of Aborigines.
He showed a keen interest in music growing up and learned to play the didgeridoo by practicing on a vacuum cleaner hose. Mr Rudd just doesnt play a single instrument but adds others and the result is natural music to your ears. What is done here is near perfection in playing all these instruments simultaneously and at the sametime synching, timing on point and giving that foot-tapping, head-hodding groove, no studio music here No Sir. From practising on a vaccum cleaner hose to coming to the world attention via didgeidoo, well we all need to start somewhere, but this guy is impressive. Check him out doing the “Yirra Curl” and No woman no cry (cover of the Bob Marley classic song).
