Tyrese, Ginuwine & Tank

R&B crooner/rapper Tyrese has teamed with Ginuwine, and Tank to form R & B super-group TGT.

Together Tyrese, Ginuwine, and Tank have released an impressive 13 albums and continue to release chart-topping singles.

“With all the support our fans have given us individually over the years for our distinct signature styles, collectively we felt our fans deserved to hear great music in a way that they could never have imagined,” Tyrese aka Black Ty said. “I’ve known these guys for years and they truly are like brothers, so it only felt right to come together as a trio to make history”
Ginuwine labeled the new group “a dream come true” and said the group will reshape R&B music.

“Basically the world of R&B needed a change, and there were only a few chosen that could do it, R&B needed a pick up, R&B needed TGT,” Ginuwine said.

TGT can be heard together on the remix to Tank’s current single “Please Don’t Go,” but the newly formed group has new plans for TGT in the future, including an international tour.

The tour, entitled The Shirts Off Tour, will make stops in major American cities including New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Chicago, and Miami this fall.

While on tour TGT will also have auditions to find its fourth member in an American Idol type format.

“With all the support our fans have given us individually over the years for our distinct signature styles, collectively we felt our fans deserved to hear great music in a way that they could never have imagined. I’ve known these guys for years and they truly are like brothers, so it only felt right to come together as a trio to make history,” Tank said in a statement.

TGT is currently in the studio now working on their debut album – THIS SHOULD BE FIRE!

Nah, that’s just plain foul…just cause you think your favourite band are getting some competition, but I’m sure TGT would not be targetting pretty ricky’s audience – I think (Hope) they’ll try to emulate Lucy Pearl or the old 80’s group with Gerald somethin (I cant remember), but you never know, could be old folks trying to make a quick buck or trying to be a part of history…

When was the last time we had a group like THIS!! the 80s with JODECI, PUBLIC ANNOUCEMENT the 90s adult R&B for grown folk, its that long so its about time TGT brought that back. Hope they breath air into the current dull standard R&B scene. Will they be big as LSG may be?

It can be a good thing and can be a bad thing, most of this kind of arrangements end up breaking up. They are all artist at a high level (except tank), so they might release an album but it might not be more than that….an album.

LOL @ the comment on my fav. band. It all has to do with money, money talks, B.S walks.

Alls I got to say is these young men are HOT, with voices that make you want to throw your thongs on stage…Tyrese, umm that man is fine, can sing, act and did I say he is fine?:] Tank/Genuwine/Tyrese, wow these three are going to have some folks going home making babies! The voices are good but take off the shirts and I think the female audience will go deaf.
