This quality track of 10 years ago “The Truth” is from the debut album So… How’s Your Girl? by former the hip hop duo Handsome Boy Modeling School (Dan the Automator & Prince Paul [De la Soul Fame]) and features Róisín Murphy (Moloko fame) this has got to be classic, right?
“The Truth’s” vibe and groove is a simple/eclectic mix of jazz, hip hop and electronica, this will easily seat/slot into any jazz or hip hop collection/compilation respectively no problem.
Handsome Boy Modeling School track was sampled from “Coffee Cold” of the album “Shapes of Rhythm” (1966) by renowned composer and pianist Galt MacDermot, a well sampled artist amongst the hip hop society.

The former hip hop duo released only two albums in the period they where a unit, either way most definitely worth checking their back catalogue I reckon because sampling this jazz hip hop/hip hop jazz delight there has to be more quality and Oh! Róisín Murphy like in Moloko does the vocals justice with sublime production by Handsome Boy Modeling School and waxing lyrical duty by the acclaimed J-Live.
Leave the best for the last they say! – You can’t hide from the truth Because the truth is all there is (excerpt) “The Truth” according to this hip hop duo. Have a butchers and let it be known.
