With reference to our recent post – I’m sorry soldier boys, but this is ‘Hip Hop’ this is quoted not because of the “Hip-Hop-ness” of the video, but the artists in question are “freestyling” and its normally associated with Hip Hop.

On the other hand you don’t come across a lot of soul freestyling do you? But enter the realm of Eric Roberson not an upstart in the slightest in terms of music but a fine music artist.

Eric Roberson is a Soul artist from Rahway, New Jersey, United States, sometimes goes by the alias Erro. His first single, “The Moon”, was released through Warner Bros. records in 1994 a veteran at that.

Though Eric Roberson has been going about  business independently it was not till his collaborations with Philly based artists such as Jill Scott, Musiq Soulchild, and most extensively DJ Jazzy Jeff, that he came to prominence and a member of Jeff’s A Touch Of Jazz of which he made contributions to Jeff’s debut album, The Magnificent in 2002.

On a standout track titled “Rock Wit U” from the album The Magnificent

Unlike some artists that sing, wax lyrical/rap at concerts, gigs according to the mime machine! This guy Erro is anything but a soul freestyler, no mimes here no Sir, some random words from the audience in question at this event and he has composed a song of pretty good quality. Now for any artist that has got to be admired.
