American (Los Angeles) born and Sri Lanka bred is the brother Dilan Jayasingha going by the stage name DeLon an aspiring rapper and record producer.
A survivor of the Sri Lanka Tsunami, DeLon set up the Sri Lanka Foundation to aid in the battle against nationwide poverty and rebuilding, kudos to him and best.
His lyrics and stories are pretty reminiscent of the realities and environment in his native country, highlighting poverty, terrorism (a remix track of M.I.A‘s “Paper Planes” [actual remix] brought him to the world’s attention). DeLon is making moves and is pioneering a movement in his words, “The Feel Good Music Movement” and as a result this feel good conscious old’ish track entitled “We Strugglin’“.

I must admit that this song “We strugglin” is the reason that I began to get into DeLon’s music in the first place. Anyway, a minute ago I did a story on upcoming rappers. As I researched the artists who were on he list, I came across DeLon’s MySpace page. The song on his page titled “Earth to DeLon” was hot and along with other good songs, he had a movie trailer about Sri Lankan situation and not only. Don’t let the guy confuse you though… lol Something just didn’t feel right listening to it, because it was so different from other hip hop artists. But he proves he’s ready for entrance into
the mainstream.

DeLon came to my school and performed for the entire school last year. He is sooo HOT! I’ve been waiting for him to hit mainstream! I follow him on Twitter and Facebook and he is working on a new album and is about to release a new single!!! His videos on Youtube are hella funny as well! Great article on DeLon. Glad to see him making some noise!

When I first listened to his music, I thought this is good, because he talks about his struggles, and its intriguing due to it being his life in th US and Si Lanka. I really never paid much attention to Sri Lanka, now that I hear his music, I feel more interested in the country and the struggles. He’s great because we dont have this mix yet. This definitely places and spotlight on him.
